| Happy Season's Holidays Greetings... or Something...
hope everyone had a fun weekend.
for those of you in the christmas mindset, hope you got what you
wanted, or got enough cash to fight your way through the throngs of
disgruntled shoppers (or the 'it's after x-mas and i don't have to be
merry anymore, so screw you!' crowd, as i call them) to buy it for
yourself. i got some nice work clothes, a couple of good books
(hooray for the four agreements!), stuff i can use for the apartment
(an iron, duraflame logs, etc), and most excitingly...
lateralus, by tool- on LP! this
limited edition two-disc set comes complete with unique artwork by alex
grey, a favorite of mine. tiffani got it for me in utah.
anyone for a listening party? i'm thinking we have a couple of
glasses of wine (each), put 'caligula' on the dvd player (muted, of
course), and crank it up!
anyone ever read news of the weird? i do, every week. check it out at www.newsoftheweird.com. from said site:
According to a 2004 study by Georgia State University researchers,
based on public information, one "investor group" substantially
outperforms not only the stock market as a whole but also financial
houses' top stock-pickers. That investor group is U.S. senators, who
somehow between 1993 and 1998 beat the market by an average of 12
percent annually (whereas fund managers are regarded as "stars" if they
beat the market by as little as 3 percent). The findings received
heightened attention recently, following revelations that a prominent
senator this year made a huge profit selling stock from his blind trust
at just the right time. [The New Yorker, 10-31-05] | | |
